Breakers staff and academy coach Eric Bucchere accepts the Men's Head Assistant Coaching posistion at UC San Diego. Bucchere, and first year UCSD Head Coach Jon Pascale will look to guide the storied program back to national prominance. An active and involved member of the Santa Cruz soccer community, Bucchere will leave the Breakers, as well as the Girl's Soccer Program at Harbor High School, and the Men's Soccer Program at UC Santa Cruz. In his two years as the Head Assistant Coach at UCSC, the Men's program posted a record of 36-7-0, reaching the NCAA playoffs in both seasons. In his two years with the Breakers, Bucchere was a head coach of the Boy's 96 Blue, and the Boy's 97. He also worked with every youth team in the club at the Breakers Academy, and played semi-professionally for the Breakers NPSL during their inagural season. Bucchere also served as a member of the Breakers Board of Directors. “I am honored to have been part of such a great club,” said Bucchere. “The Breakers organization has really grown into a great place to play, coach, and enjoy the beautiful game. I want to say thanks to all the great families and young athletes that made my stay with the Breakers so special.”
