1. Call to order by Larry Johnson 2. Attendance:
Board Members present: 3. Approval of Minutes: The May and July minutes were unanimously approved. 4. President's Report - Larry Johnson: Larry initially provided a Breakers Cup recap. He reported that it was a great weekend. He also reported great leadership and volunteers. With 85 teams participating, it was the largest soccer tournament in County history. Larry reported that there were no red cards and only one injury reported. The Board also discussed acknowledging Rich Rhode for his excellent work and the great job the referees did. Larry next informed the Board of the unfortunate passing of an assistant coach in the Club who was killed in a car crash. The board discussed a contribution to the family, etc. The Board also discussed Club fees and injured players 5. SCYSL Board Meeting Report - Larry Biggam: Larry and Jay brought the Board up to speed as to the current condition of the County Board. Larry and jay also informed the Board that jay does not want to remain on the County Board next year. Larry discussed the possibility that he may return to that Board. 6. Boys' and Girls' Coaching Director's Report - Paolo Carbone: Paolo discussed relegation and the Abronzino League. He also reported as to the success of the Breakers Camps. Further discussion ensued as to specific problems with specific teams. Paolo also informed the Board that the Club owes specific coaches reimbursement for expenses associated with obtaining national licensing. 7. Bob Poser next reported on his idea to help the older players with their SAT scores to help them improve their chances of playing at the collegiate level. 8. Communications Director, Matt McDowell next reported that the Web Site was coming along fine. 9. Corporate Fundraiser's Report - Jay Gomez: Jay informed the board as to the current status of the Golf Tournament fundraiser. 10. Mike Corman then briefly explained how the independent contractor and employee distinction affected the Club.
