Santa Cruz County Breakers Soccer Club 1. Call to order by Larry Johnson 2. Attendance: Board Members present:
3. President's Report - Larry Johnson: 1. AGM: Larry reminded the Board members present that the AGM was the following Tuesday at Shoreline at 7 PM. He reported regarding persons that had expressed interest in serving on the Board for the next year. Larry also reminded the Board members present of the League AGM the following evening at the Aptos Academy in Aptos. 2. League Announcement: Larry informed the Board of the announcement from the league regarding the Club's legal obligations with respect to employees, independent contractors and tax reporting. 3. Team Issues: The serious situation surrounding the Referee's Send-Off Report (attached) was discussed. The Board unanimously expressed and pledged support for the referees involved and referees in general. 4. Y League ODP: After discussion the Board unanimously voted to contribute $300/ player as per Club policy. 5. Boys' and Girls' Coaching Director's Report - Paolo Carbone: Paolo was unable to attend the meeting but provided the attached report and recommendation to the Board regarding coaches for the next year. After discussion, the Board approved the Coaching Director's request. Paolo also provided a flyer regarding proposed combined tryouts with the Mid County and Aptos Clubs. Due to the negativity of a couple of Aptos Class 3 coaches, Aptos has decided not to participate. 6. Corporate Fundraiser's Report - Jay Gomez: Jay thanked the Board for its support of and contribution toward another very successful golf tournament fundraiser 7. Treasurer's Report - Bob Evans: Bob once again provided the Board with the attached report and clearly set forth the financial position of the Club. 8. Field Coordinator's Report - Phil Furniss: Phil provided the Board an overview f the field situation facing the Club including preparation for State Cup, Spring play and the next Fall season. The Board discussed the bad field condition of Shoreline, the suggestion of lights at Del Mar, the overall situation with respect to Good Shepard School and the possible increased usage of Cabrillo College including possible Club investment in the fields at Cabrillo. 9. Abronzino Representative's Report - Bob Poser: Bob reported regarding the current status of the Abronzino Board and decision making process including their current philosophy regarding the number of teams playing in the League, relegation, et al. 10. Reevaluation of relationship with Adidas: Bob Poser and jay Gomez led a spirited board discussion regarding the ongoing relationship with Adidas, their suppliers and other alternatives. Bob and Jay agreed to look into the subject matter, a reevaluation and report back to the Board at its next meeting. Respectfully submitted, Mike Corman, Secretary |
