Santa Cruz Breakers 98B, Deeply Talented, Wins the Coveted Breakers Cup! PDF Print E-mail

Amidst a muddy pitch and the fog of Aptos, one could wonder if the 2009 Breakers Cup was like an English Premier League Tournament this year!  Slipping and sliding through the mud, the Santa Cruz Breakers 98B White Team prevailed, winning the coveted Breakers Cup in the Premier Bracket with a solid 4-1 victory over the California Odyssey Soccer Club from Clovis, California.  With only four goals allowed the entire tournament, the Breaker defense was a brick wall, allowing the midfielders and forwards to focus on a blistering attack on the goal and an undefeated streak into the final.

The Santa Cruz Breakers 98B Blue Team battled in the trenches throughout the tournament in the Silver bracket of the Breakers Cup.  Posting two draws and one loss, the Blue Team put on an exciting show and demonstrated the depth of the Breakers talent.  For many of these players, it was their first taste of tournament play at this level of youth soccer and just the beginning of what's to come from the Breakers 98B Team.  Thanks to all the coaches and parents for all of your support.
