Ruth Hanks signs with Birminham-Southern BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - 3/6/06 Ruth Hanks comes to the Hilltop from Salinas High School in Salinas, Calif. The 5’6" goalkeeper was a three-year varsity letterwinner with the Cowboys, and led her JV squad to an undefeated season as a freshman, earning the Coach’s Award for her efforts. She is a member of the Santa Cruz Breakers Soccer Club. "Ruth has a ‘no fear’ attitude," McAlpine said. "She’s a quality athlete with a great work rate and will give us much-needed depth in the net." "Our goal for the 2006 class was to increase our depth and athleticism," McAlpine continued. "We have accomplished our goals with this fantastic group of women. Each of these women have been very successful on the field at their high schools and with their club teams. We are very lucky to have them joining our Panther family. Each
