BREAKERS 90 BOYS ADVANCE IN FIRST ROUND OF STATE CUP

The Breakers U17 boys won all three of their games in the first round of CYSA State Cup in Lemoore, CA.

In the first game, the Breakers defeated Almaden Storm with a score of 5-0. Alex Jennings started the scoring early in the second half, then Josue Madueno scored two goals, and Edgar Diaz and Jorge Lopez each scored one.

In the second game, Martin Monroy scored on a penalty kick, South Valley Juventus evened the score, but Monroy came back with the winning goal.

Finally, on Sunday morning against Belmont Thunder, the Breakers scored 3-0 -- two goals were scored by Martin Monroy and one more by Alex Jennings, and key assists were made by Brian Lopez and Alan Garcia. The Breakers were scored on only once in three games with a strong defensive unit featuring Jorge Lopez, Kurt Selander, Alex Rosas, and captains Gabriel Luna and Kevin Halasz.

The Breakers U17 boys advance to the Round of 16 of State Cup to be played in Morgan Hill on April 19.
